My job here at RA is comprised of a number of different tasks—everything from bookkeeping and benefits management to planning our monthly birthday lunches. The operational side of my job keeps me busy and fulfilled, but the one area of my work that I enjoy the most is serving as an account executive for our watch clients.
My role in working with our watch clients started out quite a few years ago as coordinating and executing their annual catalogs. While I still do this, for some of our watch clients we now handle their on-going marketing efforts as well. This can be challenging at times as our watch clients aren’t local to us – they are spread out across the country. Not having the luxury of dropping by their store to deliver samples or get a quick approval on a project can sometimes prove difficult. However, we have learned over quite a few years of doing this how to navigate hurdles and adjust timelines to overcome the obstacles that the distance can bring. We aim to visit our watch clients at least once a year; aside from that all of our communication with them is done over the phone and through email and text. We work very hard at being as accessible as possible to all of our clients but really make an extra effort with our clients who are many states away.
Our watch clients have all been with us 8+ years and our relationships with each of them has grown over time. In addition to producing in-depth annual publications, we are able to coordinate overall marketing campaigns, assist with in-store displays and events, manage their social media feeds, and much more, all from hundreds of miles away! Our watch clients have been happy with our work and over the years have recommended us to others in their field which has helped us grow our portfolio in the luxury timepiece industry.
When people hear that we work for clients in such major cities as New York and Los Angeles, they are often surprised and wonder out loud why our clients have chosen us. I think that it’s the way we do things that sets us apart – being a one-stop shop, completing tasks quickly and well, and having a team of talented, hard-working individuals are all factors of our client success and longevity. We hope to be afforded the opportunity to continue working with our current watch clients for many more years to come and maybe we will even be lucky enough to pick up one or two more.
