October marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but chances are we wouldn’t know this information (or, as much about it) if we didn’t live in today’s digital world. From social media to email marketing, brands are leveraging their loyal Internet following through creative and charitable campaigns to make billions of Internet users aware of the causes that affect us daily. When done right, so much can be achieved. Here are a couple of influential examples:
Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Ulta: The makeup company hits every aspect of a digital strategy with its ‘Donate With a Kiss’ campaign. From hashtag use, to incentives from donation, and a great way to advertise its services, it’s easy to tell that breast cancer awareness is a cause near and dear to Ulta’s heart.
Cleveland Clinic: One of our favorite brands (we’re biased), is continuously making sure women are aware of the importance of getting breast exams and keeping everyone informed about all-things breast cancer. Check out this Twitter campaign, getting followers to remind loved ones of mammogram check-ups! This tweet was re-shared over 1,000 times. Can you imagine how many lives that might have changed?
So, what can you look for throughout the rest of the year?
Here are some upcoming causes and brands associated with them:
The official month of Men’s Health, look for brands like Ford, Dollar Shave Club, and Coffee-Mate to come up big with campaigning. They’ve actually already started!
February: Heart Month/Go Red for Women
Heart Health Awareness Month is February and if you haven’t followed Macy’s campaign in the past, you NEED to in 2016.
