What it is
Search Engine Marketing (SEM) is a digital marketing tactic used to drive paid traffic to a website. Pay-per-click (PPC) advertising refers to the way in which ads are purchased on search engines such as Google and Bing. Generally, when advertising on a major search engine, an advertiser pays for each click on an ad, regardless of how long the user spends on the webpage or whether or not they turn into a lead.
How We Do it
Most likely, one paid search tactic alone will not get you the results you desire. Once we understand your audience and business objectives, we use a variety of paid search tactics to target the right user in the right place at the right time.
- Search advertising involves bidding on relevant keywords, or search terms. When they are searched, those terms will trigger your ad to appear in the sponsored section of the search engine results page, above the organic listings.
- Display ads can be thought of as ‘digital billboards.’ Display advertising involves targeting users on webpages other than search engines with relevant image or text ads. Display advertising is a great tactic for building brand awareness.
- Remarketing involves targeting users who have already visited your website but did not convert. These image and text ads serve as brand reminders to your audience.
As with any strategy, we analyze account performance every step of the way, tweaking our SEM plan as needed in order to deliver optimal results. One of the benefits of digital marketing tactics is how quickly a change can be made—sometimes in mere seconds!
